Gatesway Observes National Disability Employment Awareness Month

 (Broken Arrow, OK) - The Gatesway Foundation is excited to announce our participation in National Disability Employment Awareness Month (NDEAM) during the month of October.  The purpose of NDEAM is to educate the community about disability employment issues and celebrate the many and varied contributions of America’s workers with disabilities. 

The Gatesway Foundation will be engaging in a variety of different activities throughout the month to celebrate individuals served by Gatesway who have excelled in their vocation despite having a disability.  These individuals, and their employers, prove that welcoming the talents of all people, including those with disabilities are a critical part of our efforts to build an inclusive community. 

Each day in October, Gatesway will feature a different success story on our website (www.gatesway.org) and various social media platforms.  These stories range from individuals excelling after completing our Transition: School to Work Program, to a homeless man who now supports himself, has his own apartment and recently purchased his own truck.  Each story describes the hardships these individuals faced and shows what can happen when the community comes together to provide support.
